Assignment 3.1
I
am about to write an analysis report on three types of moving image
which
are factual, fictional and promotional.
The
target audience for this documentary would mainly be for children, teens
and
adults since this documentary contains some scenes which may not be
suitable
for kids. The purpose of this documentary is to acknowledge the
audience
about the rare and exotic animals moreover to show some of the
wildlife
of south African animals. The main focus of this documentary was
specifically,
on white lions which reside in zoos in south Africa. The platform
for
this documentary would probably be TV broadcast or digital download
since
that’s the most common way of audiences viewing the type of moving
image
which is factual. This documentary attracts audiences in many ways
since
it shows the reality of nature and the animals out there who are
suffering
or not. It also attracts audiences as many of them like lion as there
favorite
animal so the documentary on those lions brings more interest to
the
audiences as they want to know more information about them.
Some
of the key features of this documentary are the positioning, structure
(Factual).
Another
key feature that includes in this documentary is the
information.
The information provided of the rare and exotic animals in this
documentary
is extremely high quality as they are useful and accurate. This
documentary
adds a lot of information and acknowledges audiences about
animals
especially white lions as it provides you with some of the key dates
and
other useful information. Some of the technical elements used in this
documentary
include the mise en scene. The setting of this documentary
was
took in a zoo in South Africa showing the wildlife of these exotic animals.
This
documentary contained many movements such as slow motion, zoom
in,
zoom out and slow motion etc. I believe that these movements were used
so
that the audiences could really feel the pain and see the nature of these
animals
clearly.
The
next category for technical elements is camerawork
some
of the shots that are used in this specific documentary are:
·
Extreme long shot (They
give a general impression)
·
Long shot (shows the life
size of animals corresponding to the real distance between audience and the
screen)
·
mid shot (Shows the detail
of animals and nature)
·
close up (Concentrates more
on white lions and other animals moreover specific details of mise en scene.
The use of close up shot in this documentary shows the importance of animals by
showing their expressions)
·
Extreme close up (Shows the
dramatic effect and emotions of the animals)
There
are about five camera movements I would say that are used in this
Documentary
these are:
·
Panning (Camera moved from
left to right to show some of the action scenes that are happening with the
lions)
·
Slow motion (Shows the lions
more slowly so audiences could adapt more detail about them)
·
Tracking (This movement is
used often in this documentary to create a very smooth movement and show a
clear vision of the lion’s lifestyle)
·
Zoom in/Zoom out (Many of
these movements were used to show the lions emotions)
Few
camera angles were also used such as:
·
Birds eye view (Showing the
nature of the zoo in South Africa)
·
Low angle (used to show
some of the strong lions)
·
High angle (shows the
overview of all the lions)
The
last category used in this technical element is the sound, the sound in
This
type of documentary is extremely important as it gives some effects to
It
without sound the video will be lifeless. For example, if a lion is running and
They
add a sound to it would create some sort of suspense for the audience
Without
sound it would be dull. Use of ambient sound was used in this
Documentary
as you could hear the waves and wind.
Fictional: Ramz - Barking [Music Video] | GRM
Daily
The target audience for this Music
video would mainly be teenagers as some
Of the lyrics only teenagers and
adults may understand not young children.
